1:48 Scale Stonework Fairy House
I've always worked in 1:12 scale and it's still my favorite medium, but I decided to give a smaller scale a try. I was delighted to find that working in quarter scale was a lot of fun! This little darling is a 1:48 scale Orchid from Greenleaf. Unlike 1:12 scale houses, these quarter scale kits are not open in back so you can't see the interior. I decided that as long as I was experimenting with a new scale, I'd also experiment a little bit further and do a full paperclay exterior for the first time. The result is this sweet little home for a house or garden fairy. It was the first in a whole line of fairy houses at Deb's Minis that includes homes for fairies, house elves and gnomes.
