Custom Rosedale Furnished Interior
One of the best things about this house was being able to do the drapes, curtains, and furniture while simultaneously building the house. This made it ever so much easier to get the perfect fit for the drapes since I was able to design, make, and mount them to the flat wall before the house was assembled. I don't think I could have gotten that perfect fit in the living room bay window if I hadn't installed those drapes before putting up the wall. As you look thru these pictures, you'll see the benefit to making and installing window coverings as you go. As for the furniture---well, it was just fun to do that as a break from building, but the biggest perk was being able to see how it was going to look before the house was even finished.
My client wanted a "turn key" dollhouse with all the furnishings and requested my "miniature interior design" service. I sent her pictures of several options of styles for each room and she selected the ones she liked best. I made the purchases for her and shipped it along with the house. It saved her a lot of time and I had fun doing the research and shopping. The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms. I added lots of shelves because she loves to collect miniatures and Rose had oodles of kitchen items to fit in the room! I also added a faux cupboard under the stairs as a cool little feature. The floors are paperclay "slate" and if you open the oven door, you can see glowing coals inside when the house is plugged in.
